Ashok Khosla – Soulful Ghazal Singer

Ashok Khosla is a well-known name in the world of ghazals, admired for his gentle voice and deeply organic expression. He received his early training in classical music from Pandit Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale ji and later from Pandit Firoz Dastur Sahab. His grooming in light classical genres such as ghazals and geet came under the guidance of his mentor Shri Kuldeep Singh ji.

His musical journey began with the devotional bhajan “Itni Shakti Hamein Dena Daata” from the film Ankush, composed by Shri Kuldeep Singh ji. The bhajan went on to become a morning prayer in many schools across India, leaving a lasting imprint on listeners.

Ashok Khosla’s debut ghazal “Ajnabi Shehar Ke Ajnabi Raaste”, featured in the album The Brightest Talent of the 80s—composed by the legendary  Jagjit Singh ji—brought him wide recognition and critical acclaim. This marked the beginning of his long and meaningful association with ghazals.

He later released his first solo ghazal album Ta-aruf, produced by Music India and composed by Shri Kuldeep Singh ji. Several memorable albums followed, including Aftab, Dhanak, Dil Nawaaz, Maikhana, Khwab Tumhare, Tere Hothon Ko Salaam, Mulaqat, Obsessions, and others.

Over the years, Ashok Khosla has performed extensively in India and abroad, touching the hearts of ghazal lovers worldwide. He is among the few artists to have performed three times at the prestigious Wembley Conference Centre, London.

His latest ghazal album, Ishq Ke Aage, has been released under the Times Music label.
